Lucille S. West

Lucille S. West, 81, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Palm Garden Of Vero Beach.

She was born on September 18, 1930 in Cordele, GA and has been a resident of Indian River County over fifty five years.

Lucille was retired in the medical business as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.

She was a member of the Church of God In Christ of Wabasso where she served as a Missionary and Mother of the Church.

Lucille was a part of the Special K Group and she also enjoyed singing, talking on the phone and church.

Survivor include her daughters, Louise Thompson, of Tacoma, WA; Annie Kate West, Brenda West-Troutman, both of Vero Beach, FL; Diotha West, of Tacoma, WA; Barbara Jean West, Sharon Norman Bass, Jacquline Jones, all of Vero Beach, FL; brother, Shevie Staley, of Melbourne, FL; and fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom West Jr, son, Lorenzo Tom West, mother, Jerry Lee Jones, father, Robert Smith, brother, Willie James Staley, and a grandson, Tyrone Gordon.

Visitation will be held 5 to7PM and a wake service will be 7 to 8PM Friday August 10, 2012 at Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel, Gifford. A funeral service will be held 3PM Saturday August 11, 2012 at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Vero Beach. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stone Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel.
