Owen B. Gregory

U.S. Veteran

Owen B. Gregory, 80, of Vero Beach, FL died on Monday July 16, 2012 at Fort Pierce Health Care Center.

He was born on June 20, 1932 in Wrightsville, GA and has been a lifetime resident of Indian River County.

Owen attended the public schools of Indian River County and a graduate of Gifford High School Class of 1953.

He was retired from the City Of Vero Beach in the maintenance department.

Owen was a member of the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church where he served as an usher, trustee, former steward and any of the beautification of the church he did.

Survivors include was his wife, Jennie Gregory, of Vero Beach, FL; sons, Owen F. Gregory, Michael Gregory, both of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Marcia L. Gregory-Thorpe, of West Palm Beach, FL; sisters, Lillie Pearl Gregory, of Vero Beach, FL; Mary E. Williams, of Orlando, FL; and four grandchildren.

Owen was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Gregory, mother, Lillie D. Smith, brothers, Bennie Gregory, Rudolph E. Smith, and sister, Annie Mae Richardson.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7PM on Friday July 20, 2012 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday July 21, 2012 at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Vero Beach. Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stone Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel.
